Trump the Facist in Waiting

Trump is a mad man. I don't mean this in a flippant way, or say it in order to be mildly humorous. He's actually mad.

If this man comes into power, he will be used and manipulated like a mannequin. If evil could formulate the rising in flesh and blood form of the Devil, Trump would be something along those lines. If not the actual devil a direct conduit.  A mouthpiece. Pull a string here or there and it will obediently do ones will. He has been described as a man child, but is certainly more child than man. Another term is narcissist, which certainly fits. He wants to do anything he likes and not be held to account.

For all of his life this has mostly happened. Money is like a vaccine when it comes to jail time. So is influence. He'll never spend a day behind bars no matter how suitable he is. Instead, in a mocking way he colours his skin orange. The big tangerine, prefrontal lobe dementia suffering oaf will carry on. His medical records are kept secret, very much like his qualifications. When he does kick the bucket his family will take over. For he sees them all as one happy crime syndicate. Like his genes the one thing they all want is attention, more money, power and recognition. Narcissists and their narcissist families live for nothing else.

But if anything, his notoriety has come about through fame.  Being on TV and in the public eye gave him the power he has now.  His personality had been seen for decades, as a bigger than life on American TV show The Apprentice show. There he spoke lies of how successful he was and in his bragging won over many a follower.  They root for him, the gullible and ill educated love him, he's the imaginary success they wish they were.  They have become full-blown cult members and know very much how Trump behaves.  He identifies as one of the workers, one of the strivers, but he is not. He has never worked a real day in his life. His power has got so big, he now completely runs the Republicans. There is not a Republican politician who doesn't seek to be on the side of the tangerine. For if they fall out of favour, then they will lose their seat. The floor will collapse and every cent of their wealth will ebb away. It is like the tange has them wrapped around his little finger.  Worse still it is influential blackmail, the entire Republican Party knows this.

Are there any other Republicans left who don't kiss the feet of the Tange? Are there any who recognise this man is not a Republican? He is a con artist who has sold a truck load of snake oil. It's nothing more than a Ponzi scheme. He is a traitor to the Republicans, he is a traitor to America. Many of Trump's supporters don't really have an understanding of what a Fascist is. It's very much like most of America doesn't understand what communism and socialism is. These are words that have a bad rap. But Fascist? It's not even in their dictionary. Will they wake up? Will some of them when they get to the ballot box actually say to themselves I'll just pretend to vote Trump, but really I'm gonna vote Harris?

I came across a concept some time ago. We either all win or all lose, and I've become to think any divided peoples will be like this, losing.  Come the 5th November, it's not just America which will changed if Trump gets in. It is the whole world. As he has said as well. There will never be another election after this one. Some disturbing words. It's not going to be a game, and it certainly will be life or death for many.

Impossible people, the vamipires of mental health

It has taken me my full life to really understand there are people I just can not get on with.  The saddest thing is some of these people are my closest relatives.  No matter how hard I try to talk reason with them it is as though I am on a different planet. They will not listen, and even if I begin by listening to them, to do my best with all the skills I've picked up, such as empathy, unconditional positive regard and active listening. They will not return the courtesy.  They are stuck in the same repeated behaviours and discussions time and again. No matter how I approach them the results are the same.  I if I give an inch they take a yard.  They always want to talk about themselves about their problems, about how things are so bad for them, they don't give a shit about pulling anyone else down into their insular quagmire of depression. Those of my family should be loving, compassionate and supportive, but everything is with a caveat. I resorted to not speaking to one person for about 12 months. Difficult seeing as I live with them, the self-centreness of them. I just can not handle it.  I want to communicate, to really chat but there is no avenue for words to be let in, the doors are closed. Realization and understanding in this situation are alien terms.

There are times I always question whether it is me, am I the one who has some mental illness because I can not communicate with them.  Yet I can communicate with many other people. Then the realisation breaks through it is not I who has the mental health issues it is them. One has been been hospitalised for mental health issues, another has been on long term anti-depressants and has varying degrees of agoraphobia, a third has been to counselling and recommended anti-depressants but refused them.  An in-law is an alcoholic and lives with the first depressed individual.  It's got the point I can recognise a mentally ill person faster than a cowboy can draw their gun in a duel. I too find I change my attitude and behaviour pattern when I am around my relatives, they have been given too much of my time and effort so now I don't want to even bother, I don't want to engage and this in itself could be another contributing factor.  However, I do my best not to converse to any great extent with them. Not engaging is a self preservation strategy and it doesn't waste heart ache and soul. I'd love them to change or to make an active effort to change their lives, but it seems to me there is no motivation to do so. They will carry on as they are, until the day they no longer breath.

These people do not just exist in families, they exist in every walk of life. The next worse place to encounter them is at work.  Here they sill remain impossible people but there is an unavailability about them. Some of them are able to climb the ladder of responsibility, they get into positions where it is inexplicable how they got there in the first place. It is inexplicable they are able to take the responsibility, and quite frankly they don't. I recall one woman many years ago at work who just talked a load of shit all the time. But staff had to listen to her because she was a middle manager. Eventually higher management got rid off her through a restructure and her next job was substantially reduced in grade and responsibility.  Another manager I remember with utter distaste was one who thought she was a lovey dovey actor type personality, however more than this she thought she knew best on everything. Those who did not share her opinion had no opinion worthy of listening to, she was said to have been responsible for giving her manger a mental break down. But the plain truth of the matter was, she was an invidious bully and  those around her had to suck up or they would become the next victims to her bullying practices.

I read an article about impossible people on the internet. Simply you are never going to change these people and at some point you have to let them go from your life, even if they are relatives. If all they do is pull you down and depress then there is no alternative.  One strategy mentioned is silence, another I guess is doing your dam best to make sure you see them as infrequently as possible. Or you can treat them like children.  Yet they are adults in every sense.  They have lived decades and haven't learnt or introspected on their actions, on how other may see them.  If they can't be bothered to listen to you why should you be bothered to listen to them. Let them get on with their life and be what they are going to be. If help is refused and the only help they really want is your own mental well being to be as warped as theirs. Then it's just not worth it, for I will guarantee depressed mentally ill family members will either not have a job or have a really crappy job and forever be moaning about it.  But they will not see they have any power to do anything about their own situation, preferring to attribute the locus of control outside of themselves.

The thing is, normal people can not actually deal with abnormal impossible people. Another expression I've read used for these persons is Emotional Vampires.  Which is so true. It becomes a difficult task keeping your own sanity around them. Stopping yourself from getting angry, or from getting into those vicious circle arguments which go nowhere and achieve nothing. They just will not learn or understand, and it takes your own realisation and conscious decision making process to stop your own behaviour from providing oxygen to their fires.  It also leads me to an inevitable conclusion, you can not expect emotional or psychological support from these people, you can not expect them see anything other than their own point of view. They will never break out of this and they will never change their ways or seek to improve their situation. Which means, you can only change  your ways or run for the hills. Up in those hills you may even find another person who knows where you are coming from. Stephen Covey in his book 7 Habits of Highly Effective people terms this as being Pro-active.  By this he means you have to change your own rose tinted spectacles through which the world is interpreted and how you act.  It's like consciously saying, this person may be the most obnoxious person in the world, but I'm not going to let anything they say or do have any meaning to myself.  Although insightful, it is very difficult to do, but it can be achieved.

Stress Monkey

In the Fish Factory there is an individual I have to associate with.  They have a personality trait which is begining to get too annoying.  They are a stress monkey.  They blow up every time something comes up which they feel unable to deal with.  Their own attitude and behaviour then effects other people, a bit like a whirlpool anyone who is within three desks can get sucked into it.  My personal irritation level is rising.  I had learnt some time ago it doesn't do much good getting annoyed.  It will always happen when something gets to you, but the only way to rise above it is to give it a moment then get on with the job.  Concentrating energy on solving the problem rather than moaning about it.  Which also lead me to be as self sufficient as I could.  I'd find out how to do something by myself and then I'd do it.  But people are different.  The Stress Monkey reminds me of my own stress monkey and my need to keep it under control, I don't need another person waking it up.  The fact this person is irritating me is a point marking my stress is now being effected.  I want a quite easy life.  I don't need all this exploding bloody stress monkey only a few desks away.  I've contemplated murder, with the hope as the criminal justice system has gone down hill I'd get let off for good behaviour.  This individual is on medication for their stress.  One solution might be just to wait and if I wait long enough they will literally explode.

Being a winner is not everything

I have just been reading a BLOG about someone who watched a TV program about how to become a winner. They gave a short precis on what was learnt. It soon became a disappointment to me they had been given a load of psycho babble jargon and had sapped it up like meeting an oasis when the last drop of water had been consumed. They thought, it was because the TV program had given them an insight. When in fact it had actually just tapped into their own internal motivational need to change their life. I could equally argue why being a winner or making it your goal to be the best is a bad thing for both you and for society. A primary example of this can be seen in the way over zealous parents coach their children to be actors at the sake of everything else in life. The children grow up and then become to despise their parents. Or I could say, yes it is OK to be a winner but at what expense? Does it mean treading on others as you climb the social scale? Does it include lying or cheating? And if being first is really the most important thing in life, whatever happened to the fun? Fun and relaxing and being happy with yourself, your family your work. To me a winner would be someone who might well decide they could win a race if they wanted to run all out, but knew it was more important to one of the other competitors so they just let them win instead.

Oh by the way. I understand now in primary schools they give medals to all the children who enter races, regardless of what place they came in. And I bet they all have great big happy smiles and so they should, because we are all part of one race, it's the human race.

Attention Dictators

I don't know what it is, but I like peace and even sometimes silence when doing a task which requires my attention. This however can be pretty difficult when in a work place with other people only a desk away. Then even when they are occupied with actually doing some work, you can not anticipate for visitors. Yes. Those ones who turn up just to have a chat, steal a sweet, biscuit, cake or part of your time with a query they can't use their own initiative to work out. But it must be inane chatter I dislike most of all. Sitting there trying to concentrate is a Herculean task, you're trying to tie in figures against text, reason and understand spread sheets, or complex legal things and someone stands nearby and just chats. It doesn't matter what their chat is about. Whether it is cats, dogs, the price of fish or even work related. It is chat which breaks the peace, but worse still breaks your concentration. When your attention is narrowed to understand something and these persons stand there arms crossed looking like a Les Dawson character they actually become dictators. It seems they have no incite into their own behaviour as if they are mentally ill in some way.  For they also know the need to concentrate when trying to get on with their own job. You would of thought there was an innate understanding.

Not the dictator of a country, like Stalin was or the Italian fascist bloke during the second world war. No. These individuals become dictators of your mind and your work. The gibbering rubbish gets in the way of thought and clarity. These are the same persons who if they get stuck on a query they just can't get around are likely to come up to you and steal your time. It's not just this it is also attention. When you are ready and have psyched yourself up and have fully immersed your mind and attention in what it is you are trying to understand, these dictators decide how much work you are going to do. They decide if you are going to work or not going to work. Then after ten minutes they will wing their self away on a zephyr of happy contentedness having passed the time with their colleague, and of complete oblivion of how they have effected you.

If only it were possible to completely cut out sound on such an occasion. To fully obliterate whatever it is these people are doing to your mind. Or it were possible to mind control them the same way they grab and distort your own concentration. Mind control the dictators of attention into a blank zombie ism. So they can not speak, so they can barely dribble and then as their own attention is so short they wonder off bumping into fellow zombies along the way. Perhaps congregating in places where they can do no harm. Like long lost fields where nothing but long grass and nesting birds inhabit. Then they can stand zombie like and try their powers of dictator attention grabbing on the open air wildlife. Miraculously they would then fade into oblivion their bones feeding the soil and contributing to the wonderful country side we could have. Another alternative is to have spring loaded cattle prods, which automatically come out of a wall crevice and shoot ten thousand volts through the dictators. It would be nice to see how much they have to say then and whether they are able to even blubber. If they can I'm sure another prod could be provided at no extra cost of course.
